From the official Census count date of April 1, 2000, to July 1, 2005, Union County grew 5.6% compared to 2.7% for Mississippi as a whole. During this time, Union County had the 15th highest numerical growth of Mississippi’s 82 counties and the 11th highest percentage growth. This 5.6% growth rate was the highest among Northeast Mississippi counties.
